Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke, a leading cause of death and long-term disability. Highly effective treatments are now available, but many people do not receive them in time to benefit. Dr. Kumar will collaborate with the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services, healthcare providers, payers, policy makers and others to diagnose structural causes of the delay and identify potential scalable solutions.
